About Organic Ground Cinnamon

Cinnamon is the dried bark of various laurel trees in the cinnamomum family. One of the more common trees from which Cinnamon is derived is the cassia. Possibly the most common baking spice, Cinnamon is used in cakes, cookies, and desserts throughout the world. Cinnamon is also used in savoury chicken and lamb dishes from the Middle East. It is often paired with apples and used in other fruit and cereal dishes. Perfect sprinkled on hot chocolate.

Moroccan Vegan Harira Soup Recipe

Summary: Harira is a very popular soup in Morocco and in all of the Maghreb, where it is often eaten to break the fast every night during the Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting. Harira is hearty and satisfying thanks to the chickpeas, lentils and pasta. It is usually made with very thin, angel hair pasta, but I used orzo, a tiny rice grain - like pasta. Harira is unbelievably fresh and flavoursome thanks to the fresh herbs and the fresh ginger, the cinnamon makes it somewhat sweet, and finally, the saffron just makes it out-of-this-world. Yet, Harira is childishly easy to make. The soup can be eaten on its own or with couscous.

Vegan Tofu Fajitas Recipe

Summary: Traditionally, fajitas are grilled strips of meat, sometimes cooked with onions and bell peppers and served with tortilla wraps and a variety of condiments such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce and coriander. For these delicious vegan fajitas, strips of smoked tofu are marinated in a tasty homemade cumin and cinnamon fajita spice mix before being fried in a cast iron skillet along with onion and rainbow bell peppers. You could also add other seasonal vegetables such as asparagus in the spring.
