About Organic Pitted Dates

Pitted dates are fleshy, moist and loaded with a rich sweet flavour. Their pleasant taste and distinctive chewy texture makes it a versatile fruit that can be added to a variety of sweet and savoury dishes like cakes, breads, puddings and other desert dishes.

Pitted dates have the highest polyphenol concentration among the various dried fruits and should be made to play an important part in our daily diet. The phenol antioxidants and nutrients, mainly fibre that you get from one serving will give you a high energy boost. Pitted dates are considered a natural energy booster so snack away!

It is one the oldest food producing plants in the world that was cultivated way back in 3,500 B.C in the areas of the Persian Gulf and the Nile Valley of Egypt. The date palm was introduced to the western world by the early Spanish missionaries. Dates are preserved by drying and pressing into cakes. It is believed that many centuries ago Arabian caravans ate dried dates as their main food when they travelled on long journeys across the desert. Fresh dates stay well under refrigeration so they can be stocked and eaten throughout the year.

Dates versatility is impressive: I've used them in various recipes, sweetening smoothies to in salads and baking. The soft, chewy texture makes them a moreish healthy standalone snack, especially when I'm craving something sweet & wholesome.
