About Fine Sea Salt

Sea Salt has been obtained by the simple and natural evaporation of water aided by the warm sun and wind. It is one of the vital components of taste.
Salt is one of the most effective and widely used seasonings as it binds flavours together and accentuates them. It reduces the bitterness and acidity, whilst bringing out the other flavours of the food.
A tiny pinch of salt added to boiling water when cooking vegetables will add flavour, help retain nutrients and reduce the cooking time.
Salt sprinkled on citrus fruit, melons and tomatoes can enhance their flavour.
Moisten the rim of a glass with lemon or lime and dip into salt, slightly twisting the glass, to add that professional touch to a cocktail.
Remove stubborn tea and coffee stains inside cups and mugs by rubbing them with salt.
For brighter chopping boards, rub with a damp cloth dipped in salt after washing.
Use salt on red wine stains. Blot up as much of the spillage as possible and cover the rest with salt. Wash or vacuum as usual.
For a facial, mix equal parts of salt and olive oil and gently massage the face. Relax for 5 minutes and wash off.
Salt water helps to soothe skin irritations and helps the body's natural healing processes. Enjoy a warm, salt bath!

Customer reviews

Great to be able to buy small quantities of salt - it means that even though I only use tiny amounts in cooking I can still make sure that it is reasonably fresh.

Good sea salt, good price and not in plastic! Much less messy than grinding at home and a little goes a long way for salting pasta and more.

BBQ aubergine with tomato, ricotta and pesto

Summary: Aubergine's naturally smoky flavour makes it the ideal barbecue choice

Gluten Free Grain Free No added sugar Vegetarian Wheat Free

Spinach Buckwheat Pancakes Recipe

Summary: Our Spinach Buckwheat Pancakes are a really fun way to add greens to your diet or to kids' diet, as you will not taste the spinach at all ! Feel free to use fresh herbs instead of dried herbs in the pancake batter if you have them. Buckwheat is not a grain / cereal, and even though it has 'wheat' in its name, buckwheat is in no way related to wheat. It is actually a seed (sometimes referred to as a 'pseudo-grain', just like fellow nutrition heroes quinoa and amaranth). So in addition to being nutritious and naturally gluten free, it is a great food to add to your diet if you are trying to add variety or reduce the amount of gluten that you eat. The vibrant green pancakes would make a great addition to a brunch spread. Serve them with vegan yoghurt and fresh parsley or toppings of your choice, sweet (omit the garlic and the herbs from the batter) or savoury.

Tagliatelle with Homemade Spinach and Pumpkin Seed Pesto Recipe

Summary: Making your own pesto is actually very easy, and the possible variations are endless and endlessly delicious too. As a basic rule, you need some green leaves (basil, or spinach here), a nut or seed (pine nuts, or pumpkin seeds here), parmesan cheese for traditional, non vegan pesto, garlic, olive oil and salt. Our homemade spinach and pumpkin seed pesto is served with elegant tagliatelle, some cooked vegetables and a little rich goat's cheese for a delicious and balanced meal. You could use other pasta shapes or gluten free pasta, or just leave out the goat's cheese for a vegan dish.

No added sugar Vegetarian
