About Coarse Sea Salt

Sea Salt has been obtained by the simple and natural evaporation of water aided by the warm sun and wind. It is one of the vital components of taste.

Salt is one of the most effective and widely used seasonings as it binds flavours together and accentuates them. It reduces the bitterness and acidity, whilst bringing out the other flavours of the food.

A tiny pinch of salt added to boiling water when cooking vegetables will add flavour, help retain nutrients and reduce the cooking time.

Salt sprinkled on citrus fruit, melons and tomatoes can enhance their flavour.

Moisten the rim of a glass with lemon or lime and dip into salt, slightly twisting the glass, to add that professional touch to a cocktail.

Remove stubborn tea and coffee stains inside cups and mugs by rubbing them with salt.

For brighter chopping boards, rub with a damp cloth dipped in salt after washing.

Use salt on red wine stains. Blot up as much of the spillage as possible and cover the rest with salt. Wash or vacuum as usual.

For a facial, mix equal parts of salt and olive oil and gently massage the face. Relax for 5 minutes and wash off.

Salt water helps to soothe skin irritations and helps the body's natural healing processes. Enjoy a warm, salt bath!

This is a great salt to use on your cocktail glasses. I think the coarse grains work much better than the fine ones. In the right light you can even get a bit of a glitter of the crystals!

Vegan Buticha Ethiopian Hummus Dip Recipe

Summary: This tasty vegan chickpea spread is traditionally served alongside other dishes on injera, the Ethiopian teff sourdough crepe. Feel free to add more or less water to reach you desired consistency. This is also delicious as a spread on toast, topped with avocado, or on baked potatoes.

Vegetarian Roasted Beetroot and Preserved Lemon Salad Recipe

Summary: Preserved lemons give this salad a lovely Middle Eastern touch. They are very salty, though, and so are feta or halloumi, so don't salt the beetroots. If you don't have them, you can also use blanched lemon slices, in which case you might choose to salt the beetroots. For a warm salad, do not allow the beetroots to cool completely, and maybe swap the feta for grilled halloumi. In this case, serve immediately, as halloumi gets hard if allowed to sit too long after grilling. Serves 4 as a starter or 2 as a main dish (you can add some cooked quinoa to make it a more substantial meal).

Vegan Gluten Free Bean Free Sweet Potato Burgers Recipe

Summary: These Spicy Rice And Sweet Potato Burgers are a lighter, easier to digest alternative to vegan bean burgers. They are perfect served cold for summer picnics or as a delicious warm main served with your favourite fresh vegetables. The addition of grated courgette provides vegetable bulk, while the sunflower seeds deliver a healthy dose of essential fatty acids and a delightful crunch. This recipe makes up to 12 burgers, depending on your portion size.
