About Coarse Sea Salt

Coarse sea salt is obtained through the natural evaporation of seawater, enhanced by the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze. This simple process results in a flavorful seasoning that is a vital component of taste in culinary dishes.

Salt is one of the most effective and widely used seasonings, as it binds flavors together and accentuates them. Coarse sea salt can reduce bitterness and acidity, bringing out the natural flavors of food. A tiny pinch of coarse sea salt added to boiling water when cooking vegetables not only enhances their taste but also helps retain nutrients and reduce cooking time.

Sprinkling coarse sea salt on citrus fruits, melons, and tomatoes can elevate their flavors, making them even more delicious. For an added touch of sophistication, moisten the rim of a glass with lemon or lime and dip it into coarse sea salt, giving your cocktails a professional finish.

Coarse sea salt is also useful beyond the kitchen. To tackle stubborn tea and coffee stains in cups and mugs, rub them with coarse sea salt. For brighter chopping boards, simply use a damp cloth dipped in coarse sea salt after washing. It can even help with red wine stains; blot up the spillage and cover the area with coarse sea salt before washing or vacuuming as usual.

Additionally, for a rejuvenating facial treatment, mix equal parts of coarse sea salt and olive oil, gently massaging the mixture onto your face. After relaxing for five minutes, simply wash it off. Coarse sea salt mixed in warm water can soothe skin irritations and support the body's natural healing processes, making a warm salt bath a wonderful way to unwind.

I'm thrilled with this coarse sea salt! It elevates my baking, especially in bread and pastries. The flavour it brings is unmatched, and I appreciate the natural quality of this coarse sea salt.

By Louise Jenkins on 25/10/2024

This is a great salt to use on your cocktail glasses. I think the coarse grains work much better than the fine ones. In the right light you can even get a bit of a glitter of the crystals!
