About Organic Wild Rice

Wild rice - technically not actually rice but an aquatic grass that is native to North America. It adds a nutty flavour and fantastic colour to a wide variety of rice dishes and salads.

I love this organic wild rice. I usually soak it for at least 24 hours and eat it raw in a salad. But you can also cook it on its own or with regular rice. It then makes a very pretty plate of rice.

Summary: Wild rice is actually not rice at all. Although like rice, it is the seed of an aquatic grass, it is a completely different species from rice altogether.
