About Organic Blueberries

With flavours that range from mildly sweet to tart and tangy, blueberries are bursting with nutrition and flavour while being very low in calories. Blueberries are phytonutrient superstars. These fruits contain significant amounts of anthocyanadins, antioxidant compounds that give blue, purple and red colours to fruits and vegetables. In addition, blueberries also contain ellagic acid, another phytochemical that has been shown to prevent cell damage.

Blueberries are a very good source of vitamin C, manganese, and both soluble and insoluble fibre like pectin. Blueberries are also a good source of vitamin E.

These blueberries are lovely. I eat as many as I can when they are in season because everyone (I hope) loves big juicy blueberries.

I am always really happy when summer soft fruits are available again. It is so good to buy seasonal foods and enjoy them just for a time - you really look forward to the seasons rolling in again and appreciate the flavours so much more if you do not eat them all year round
