About Saffron

Select Spanish Saffron from Crane Brand. Saffron is the world's most expensive spice, stemming from the dried orange-red stigmas of the Crocus sativus flower, which are harvested by hand. It takes around 70,000 flowers and numerous hours to produce one pound of dried saffron, hence the expensive price tag. Fortunately, a little bit of saffron goes a long way!

Raw Vegan Grain Free Wild Rice Paella Recipe

Summary: Wild rice is actually not rice at all. Although like rice, it is the seed of an aquatic grass, it is a completely different species from rice altogether. Wild rice is slightly lower in calories than brown rice for example, so it can be a high nutrient, high fibre alternative. It can be cooked for about 30 minutes, or soaking in warm water for a day or 2 will soften it enough to eat. So whether you are avoiding grains or just looking to add some variety to your diet, you will be happy you tried this wild rice paella.
