Spiced Orange Flapjacks

Baking Sweet

You will need

250g rolled oats More products
120ml orange juice OR squeeze your own More products
55g butter Available only in our Edinburgh shops More products
4 tbsp agave syrup

2 tbsp xylitol

grated zest of 1 orange More products
1 tsp mixed spice More products

  • Preheat the oven to 200C/gas mark 6.
  • Line and grease the insides of a 19cm square cake tin.
  • Toast the sesame seeds until golden brown in a saucepan with a little bit of olive oil.
  • Melt the butter, syrup and sugar together over a low heat.
  • Add the zest, mixed spice and the juice. Heat together for about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat.
  • Add the oats and seeds and stir together well.
  • Press this down into the cake tin.
  • Cook for around 25 minutes or until firm to the touch.
  • Leave to cool in the tin and cut into squares.
