Indonesian tempeh and vegetables

Tempeh is an indonesian staple made from soya beans. Soy protein has been shown to lower LDL(bad) cholesterol levels. High levels of LDL cholesterol tend to become deposited into the walls of blood vessels, forming hard plaques, if these plaques grow too large or break, they can cause a heart attack or stroke.

1 clove garlic, sliced More products
1 tbsp fresh ginger chopped More products
1 green chilli, deseeded and sliced More products
100g baby corn, kept whole
100g mangetout, kept whole

1 tbsp toasted sesame oil More products

Method

  • Marinate the tempeh in the tamari while you prepare the other ingredients.
  • Stir fry the marinated tempeh with the olive oil in a large pan or wok.
  • Add the remaining ingredients, except for the sesame oil which is put to one side for later.
  • Stir fry the tempeh, mangetout and other ingredients for a few more minutes.
  • Add the sesame oil, season and serve with noodles..can use rice, buckwheat,wheat or any kind.
