400g can chickpeas drained and rinsed More products
120g chopped hazelnuts,(ground almonds or hazelnuts work as well) More products
1 onion finely chopped More products
2 carrots grated More products
2 tbsp sun dried tomato puree More products
1 large free range egg beaten This item is only available in our high street shops. More products
Dried breadcrumbs for coating More products
4 bread rolls (these are gluten free) This item is only available in our high street shops. More products
Lettuce leaves This item is only available in our high street shops. More products
tomato ketchup OR More products

Method

  • In a large bowl mash the drained chickpeas.
  • Stir in the hazelnuts,onions,carrots,tomato puree and egg and mix well. Season to taste.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 and shape into burgers.
  • Coat the outside of each burger with the breadcrumbs.
  • Place in the fridge for 1 hour.
  • Grill or barbeque the burgers for 3-4 mins on each side.
  • Serve in bread rolls with accompaniments of your choice.
