Raw Detox Beta Carotene Peach Smoothie Recipe

I like to have this lovely peach coloured smoothie a couple of times a week, when peaches are in season. This way, I am certain to get my dose of beta-carotene to give me a healthy glowing complexion ! Kids love it too, thanks to the vibrant orange colour ! The lemon is optional but adds a nice tanginess, and the cinnamon helps balance blood sugar levels. Sprinkle some bee pollen for extra orange-ness, or your favourite superfood. Please make sure you use all organic produce, so that you can just wash them and use them with the skins on for extra nutrition. If not organic, please carefully wash and peel.

Method

  • Start by juicing the carrots, sweet potatoes, apples and the lemon, if using. Leaving the skins on, even on the lemon, and the apple core, cut your produce into pieces small enough for your juicer to handle.
  • Pour the juice into your blender.
  • Halve the peach, remove its stone and quarter it. Add to the blender, along with the ground cinnamon and the maca or red maca, if using. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour into 2 pretty glasses and sprinkle with the bee pollen.
