Raw Beetroot Juice Recipe

Some things are best kept simple. I believe this beetroot juice is one of them. Simply juice fresh red, Cylindra or Chioggia beetroots with a touch of lemon, ginger and garlic to stop the juice being too 'earthy'. Beetroot is rich in nitrates, which have a beneficial effect on blood pressure : they cause the muscle in the blood vessels to relax, lowering blood pressure.

Method

  • Thoroughly wash the produce, using a vegetable brush to clean the beetroots. It is essential that you use organic produce ; if using non organic, please remove the peels. Cut everything in pieces that can be handled by your juicer.
  • Juice everything together and drink within 15 minutes. You may freeze any left-over juice in a glass jar for a couple of days.
