About Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds are dark green seeds that come from the common field pumpkin. This hulled pumpkin seed can be eaten as a raw snack, similar to sunflower seeds.

One-quarter cup of pumpkin seeds contains nearly half of the recommended daily amount of magnesium, which includes the creation of ATP (adenosine triphosphate, the energy molecules of your body), the synthesis of RNA and DNA, the pumping of your heart, proper bone and tooth formation, relaxation of your blood vessels, and proper bowel function. Pumpkin seeds are also a rich source of zinc (important for immune support), omega 3 and are also a rich source of tryptophan and amino acid that can help you get a restful night's sleep. Try a handful of pumpkin seeds and a small piece of fruit (try a banana for added tryptophan) if you have trouble sleeping and you'll get the tryptophan needed for your melatonin and serotonin production.

For a tasty snack, try roasting the pumpkin seeds on a low heat setting in the oven for 15 minutes.

I roast these in oven, coated in oil for a snack. These were high in flavour and very fresh.

By Joshua Martin on 12/11/2023

These pumpkin seeds offer a rich, nutty flavour that improves sweet and savoury meals. Roast for a crunchy snack (I will eventually) or sprinkled on soups they add a distinct and pleasant flavour boost.

For desserts and sprinkled over salads, adding a distinct nuttiness and making the whole meal tastier!

By Stella Mitchell on 28/02/2023

I love pumpkin seeds, these are nice shiny, properly dark green seeds that give a good bite to salads. I tend to use them sprinkled through green salads or on lightly steamed veg.

Tried these as an afternoon snack to get me through to dinner and they worked really well to keep hunger at bay
