About Organic Flaxseed Golden Linseed

Organic Golden Linseed from Real Foods. Flaxseed or Linseed is a crop grown for food and fibre. The material linen derives its name from the same root as linseed. Linseed provides short-chain omega 3 fatty acids including linoleic acid and alpha linolenic acid, both of which are needed by the body and must be obtained through the diet. Linseed contains over 50% omega 3. Because it's plant based, it's a great vegetarian and vegan source of omega 3. Omega 3 has many benefits in the body including helping to support a healthy nervous and cardiovascular system as well as supporting healthy joints, skin, hair and nails. Linseeds contain high levels of dietary fibre as well as lignans and an abundance of micronutrients.

Flaxseeds have a nutty flavour and are excellent sprinkled on salads, cereals, and yoghurt. Try Stirring 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed into your favourite fruit, vegetable juice, or milk.

Colour: Golden

I loved the bean burger recipe! Very tasty and used up all my odds and ends, will definitely be trying it again, was nice with the flaxseeds.

We get this about once a month or so and make a little power mix for sprinkling through salads. It's also really tasty ground up a bit and put into yoghurt for breakfast, it's got a sweet sort of nutty taste to it.

I add flax seed to my juice and blend it every morning. It adds a great texture to the juice and makes me feel that I have a glass full of complete nutrition.

Vegan Quinoa Bean Burgers Recipe

Summary: Vegan burgers high in healthly fibre and protein. I've searched for many vegan bean burger or quinoa burger recipes, but they all either lacked a certain something or were too complicated. So, I came up with this recipe to combine the best of both worlds. Burgers that are good for you! This recipe uses metric cups, 1 cup = 250ml, but you can be flexible with ingredients and quantities. You can use any flour in place of spelt; any oil in place of rapeseed; any type of bread in place of wholemeal; sprouted quinoa in place of cooked. If you don't like sweetcorn please leave it out or use your favourite cooked vegetables instead. Flax can be replaced with more flour or breadcrumbs as a binder. I like to double the quantity using one tin of white beans and one tin of a different kind of bean (eg red kidney, aduki) then freeze for later.
