About Organic Whole Almonds

These Organic Whole Almonds are often eaten on their own, raw or toasted, they are also a component of various dishes. Almonds, along with other nuts, are sprinkled over desserts, particularly sundaes and other ice cream based dishes. Almonds contain protein and the amino acid tryptophan - which is a proven mood booster. A recent US study has also found that a handful of almonds can work to suppress your appetite.

These organic natural almonds (not blanched) are not heat treated. Sometimes new crop almonds need to be dried, if this is necessary the almonds are air dried at 37 degrees C. They can therefore be regarded as a raw food.

Great quality almonds. Bought 3KG and out of the whole lot there was only a handful that tasted sour and had to be thrown out, this just shows they're left as nature intended and not blasted at ridiculous temperatures to kill anything living in the nuts.

I asked the staff at Real Foods once why their nuts always taste so fresh. Apparently it is becasuse they get them vacuum packed and then pack them on site.

Raw Orange And Carrot Energy Balls Recipe

Summary: Raw energy balls are a very popular snack, generally made from processing nuts or seeds with dried fruits, herbs, spices, superfoods, and then shaping the mixture into balls or flattening them into energy bars. Bircher Muesli Recipe

Summary: This is The Original Apple Bircher Muesli recipe, as can be found in the book 'Health-Giving dishes' by Dr Bircher-Benner, first published in 1934 ! Swiss Bircher-Benner advocated eating MUESLI (Dietetic Fruit Dishes) as an integral part of the daily diet (to be eaten for breakfast and supper). The original recipe calls for condensed milk, but you can use yoghurt instead. I like to use coconut milk or oat cream for a vegan muesli.

Sprouted Wheat Berries Essene Bread Recipe

Summary: This is said to be the first bread known to mankind. It is dated back to BC, and is a bread made from sprouted wheat berries, ground and cooked at low temperature or in the heat of the sun, to make the most nutritious bread possible. For a raw Essene bread, dehydrate the shaped bread at no more than 42 degrees C. Otherwise, cook in your oven at up to 100 degrees C.
