About Organic Fuerte Avocado Green

Organic Fuerte Avocado is a medium to large pear-shaped fruit of very high quality. It has a green almost leathery easy to peel skin. Its oil content is between 15-18%. The oil in avocados has been shown to have a host benefits including reducing cholesterol, improving cardiovascular health and helping with fertility, for more information and recipes please follow this link.

The name Fuerte, which means strong in Spanish, was given after this variety survived freezing temperatures in California in 1913. As avocados do not usually survive cold let alone frosts, this is pretty hardy! It is a Mexican/Guatemalan cross and originated in Puebla. Harvested late autumn through spring.
