About Organic James Grieve Apples
Organic James Grieve Apple from Real Foods. These apples are named after James Grieve, an Edinburgh-based breeder who raised the apple from pollination of a Pott's Seedling or a Cox's Orange Pippin sometime in the early 1890s.
A savoury, juicy apple with strong acidity at first, which then mellows as the fruit matures during September. When picked early, it makes a sweet and delicate stewed apple, but then can be used as a dessert apple. An exceptionally tasty eater, it also makes truly delicious apple juice.
