About Diced Apples with SO2
Are they good for you?
Dried apples help with your health because of their minerals. According to the findings of the Linus Pauling Institute, a serving of dried apples provides 8% of your daily need for potassium. Potassium is a mineral that is essential for neurons and brain activity.
However, as with all dried fruit you need to be aware that they are calorie dense so eat in moderation!
What can they be used for?
Trail Mix. Hikers love this snack because it usually has a great combination of nuts, seeds, and dried fruit.
Granola.
Salad Topping.
Stuffing.
Energy Bars.
Baked Goodies.
How do you store them?
Properly stored dried apples should keep for about 6 months sealed in airtight containers and stored in a cool, dry place. You can also freeze for longer storage, up to a year.
What is a serving size?
A single serving of dried apples would be 40g.
What's the SO2 About?
SO2 is a preservative, preventing the apples from oxidising so they retain nutrition and colour.
Customer reviews
These are great for the kids - it takes little fingures quite a while to pick up the individual cubes so they sit quitely munching away while I drink a hot cup of tea. Makes a nice alternative to raisins which are not universally popular.
