Orange and Grapefruit dressed in White Chocolate

This is so simple, you don’t even need a recipe for it. Orange and pink grapefruit segments simply dipped in melted white chocolate. A bit like white chocolate fondue, but on a plate. Substitute for vegan white chocolate if necessary and feel free to add other fruits: strawberry, pear and banana work particularly well here.

Method

  • Grate a little white chocolate or vegan white chocolate until you have about 1 Tablespoon grating. Set aside for decoration.
  • Melt the rest of the white chocolate or the vegan white chocolate : break the chocolate into chunks and put it in a bowl. Put the bowl in a saucepan large enough to hold it and fill the space between the bowl and the saucepan with boiling water. Put the lot on medium to high heat until the chocolate has melted, stirring occasionally.
  • Peel the orange and grapefruit and separate them into segments with your hands (keeping the thin white skin around the segments).
  • Using your fingers or a tooth pick or other dipping tool, dip the citrus segments a little over half way into the melted chocolate. Lay the orange and grapefruits segments in their white chocolate dresses onto a baking tray lined with baking parchment, spacing them so they don’t touch. Repeat until you run out of fruit or chocolate and put into the fridge until the chocolate has hardened.
  • Serve arranged on a sharing platter decorated with the grated white chocolate set aside earlier.
