About Organic Tamanu Oil
Tamanu, often known as the beauty leaf oil, originates from the islands of Polynesia; it is extracted from the nuts of the Calophyllum inophyllum tree and has traditionally been used in natural skin care applications by the native people. It is high in fatty acids Linoleic, Oleic, Stearic and Palmitic Acid which is what gives it its natural nourishing and healing properties. An Orange fruit, Tamanu has been shown to stimulate collagen production by fibroblasts resulting in an improved healing process, regeneration of the dermis and minimisation of wrinkles and stretch marks.
Inherently powerful, Tamanu oil is also known as the oil of the gods . It has been used in South East Asia and the Pacific Islands for centuries as a cure-all for many skin problems.
These days the uses of Tamanu oil extend to a wide range, including helping to heal scars, stretchmarks, acne scars, anti ageing, abrasions and sun burn. It has antioxidant, anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties and aids in the regeneration of the skin. It is often recommended for acne prone skin and for dry and scaly skin conditions.
