About Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Premium Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the Island of Lesbos. The inaccessibility of the region with the steep slopes requires harvesting to be done in the traditional way, without the use of machinery. The olive groves are cultivated organically. Only the fruits on the tree are collected and everything else that has fallen on the ground remains as a natural fertilisation. The trees are groomed and shaken in small groups with traditional chestnut wood sticks. Then the olives are transferred to the nearest road with animals and the fastest possible to the mill for grinding, ensuring a high quality end product. In the cooperative cold press mill in the Palaiochori village the harvest is collected and crushed. There tradition meets science in order to obtain a high quality product. Furthermore, the accuracy of chemical and sensory analysis by international accredited labs ensures the overall quality of this product and ensures a truly organic extra virgin olive oil.

Lesbian Donkey is a small family owned business that was founded in 2013. "We desired a better future for our family away from the big city. Like our ancestors, we live close to the land, our lives intertwined with the rhythms of the earth. Our business philosophy has been directly shaped by our intimate involvement in the cultivation, harvesting, production and distribution of our olive oil. Our company has a social orientation and is now in the process of obtaining the B Corporation certificate for social benefit businesses."
