Vanilla Poached Pears

Method

  • Peel, halve and core 4 pears.
  • Put in a shallow dish with the white wine, sugar, strips of grapefruit zest and the split vanilla bean.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and microwave for about 10 minutes or cover with a oven proof lid/plate and bake for 23-40min at 180c.
  • Serve the pears with the vanilla syrup; top with whipped cream, if desired.
