Summary: Chia seeds are one of the most popular superfoods within the health community.
Originally from Mexico, chia seeds are very nutritionally dense, being the second best plant source of Omega 3 ALA (an ounce - 28g - of chia seeds will give you almost 5g of Omega 3) after flax seeds, both better sources than salmon, and an excellent source of protein, Calcium, Phosphorus and dietary fibre (an ounce of chia seeds will give you almost half of the recommended daily intake of fibre).
Chia means “strength” in the Mayan language, and it is said that Aztec warriors would travel great distances, carrying the equivalent of just one spoonful of chia seeds, along with their water pouch, and that this would be enough to sustain them for a whole day or running long distances and battles.
Chia seed pudding is therefore an excellent choice for breakfast, to easily keep us fuelled until a late lunch.
You can prepare enough chia pudding for a few days and keep it refrigerated. Given enough time, chia seeds will soak a lot of liquid, up to 12 times their volume. Adjust the amount of liquid to your preferred consistency and the soaking time available to you.
I have included bee pollen in this recipe as some vegans include bee products in their diets, but please leave it out to keep this recipe strictly vegan.

Summary: Raw Cheesecakes are perhaps the most popular Raw Vegan desserts, and with reason. They are amazingly delicious, really easy to make, and they are so much better for you than a traditional cheesecake. This Raw Vegan Mango And Passion Fruit Cheesecake is no exception : the mango flavoured crust is chewy yet crunchy, the mango cream is delicious and velvety smooth, and the passion fruit topping is tangy and adds a great crush when you bite into the seeds.

Summary: Chia Pudding usually calls for soaking the chia seeds in a flavoured liquid (such as almond milk, coconut milk or your favourite homemade dairy free milk substitute) and letting the seeds soak the liquid for anything from an hour to overnight. As the seeds soak up the liquid, each individual seed gets surrounded by a jelly-like bubble, and the resulting chia pudding has a texture resembling that of tapioca pudding, or frog spawn. Chia seeds are a very popular superfood, particularly due to their high Omega 3 content ; they are also very high in fibre and chia pudding is an ideal breakfast, as it keeps one full until lunch. If you are not keen on the texture, you can still enjoy the benefits of adding chia puddings to your diet, by simply blending them until smooth.
This super simple recipe is a great example of a smooth chia pudding for a high energy breakfast, naturally sweetened by the bananas. It would also make a lovely dessert or snack for adults and children alike.
