As a Chinese emperor declared nearly 1000 years ago, "white tea is the culmination of all that is elegant." White tea offers an exquisite range of flavour and aroma, both refined and refreshing. This rare white tea, one of the great teas of China, is grown in the high mountain mists. The first leaf buds to appear in the Spring are carefully selected and then skilfully cured by hand, a natural process that takes several hours. It is the fine, silvery white down which covers the leaves that gives the tea its name.
Traditionally, in Chinese medicine, white tea is believed to both refresh and detoxify, and to bring the immune system into balance.
