Raw Chocolate Coated Figs Recipe

These are really delicious : the perfect marriage of extra dark chocolate and infinitely sweet baby figs. Better than fig bars, and just what you want. Only 3 ingredients, and takes minutes to make. One chocolate layer is good, but to make these little babies even better, give them two coats of chocolate.

Method

  • Gently melt the cacao butter, over a pan of simmering (not boiling water). Add the raw cacao powder and mix until smooth.
  • Let the chocolate cool a little, until it coats the back of a spoon.
  • Holding them by the stalk, dip the baby figs one by one in the thickened chocolate. Allow any excess to drip off before delicately placing the chocolate coated figs onto a tray covered with a sheet of baking parchment.
  • Repeat until you run out of figs and place the coated figs in the fridge to set.
  • Once set, repeat step 3 if you would like a thicker chocolate coating. Return to the fridge again to set.
  • The chocolate coated figs will stay fresh for several weeks in an airtight container in the fridge.
