About Organic Uva-ursi Complex Vegan,
Uva-ursi or Bearberry is a small woody shrub, which thrives in the mountains of Alfred Vogel's native Switzerland. It also proliferates in many other areas too such as Siberia, North America, the Himalayas and Northern Europe. A bit closer to home, Uva-ursi can be found in Scotland and there even is a hill in the area of Strathnairn known as 'Cnoc nan Cnà imhseag' which translates to 'the hill of the bearberries'.
The plant is a short and produces pink or white bell shaped flowers, the berries have been known to be associated with the shape of a human bladder which is rather coincidental considering that its main beneficial property is to help maintain bladder and urinary tract health. It is a natural botanical food supplement that may have been used by humans as a healthcare product as early as 2 A.D!
