Raw Almond Milk

Almond milk is one of the tastiest and nutritionally rich non-dairy milks. It is also very easy to make so why not try creating your own raw almond milk (you will need a muslin bag or a nut milk bag).

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of soaked almonds
  • 4 cups of water

Optional extras

Method

  1. Soak almonds in water for 8 hours in a non-metallic container.
  2. Drain almonds and blend with fresh water (and any optional ingredients) in a food processor until smooth.
  3. Strain the milk through a muslin or nut milk bag into a glass container with a lid.

Almond milk will stay fresh in the fridge for about 3–4 days.

Top tip: Use the almond pulp collected in the bag as a useful ingredient for raw breads and crackers or add to a curry or tagine.
