Nestled in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic city centre our Broughton Street shop has been selling a rich variety of groceries to the public for over 40 years. Meanwhile on the other side of the city and part of the vibrant Tollcross community is our second shop which has its own devotees who have been buying healthy groceries there for many years. With over a thousand customers coming through our doors every day, over the years we have provided good quality, natural, wholefood groceries to millions of Edinburgh locals and to holiday makers and visitors as well.
Throughout all our years of selling groceries, we have remained deeply committed to our ecological principles, reusing and recycling all that we can. Since they first opened their doors to the public Real Foods shops have offered dried groceries packed from the sack into customer’s own containers and loose organic fruit and vegetables that can be carried home in paper bags rather than plastic ones. Our own brand groceries, Real Foods Essentials and Real Foods Organics have always been packed in fully compostable, cellulose bags rather than in plastic, so even when you take one of our packets off the shelves you know that you are not only benefitting yourself and your own health, you are also acting responsibly towards our planet.
