Who's Who of Wholefoods Dried Apricots

Dried apricots are a great source of vitamin A, vitamin C and iron. One cup of dried apricots gives you 94% of the vitamin A and 19% of the iron that your body needs daily.

Dried apricots are also a good source of fibre, potassium and carotenoids. Carotenoides are a class of phytochemicals that give fruits and vegetables their red, orange, and yellow colors. One of the carotenoids found in apricots is lycopene, a potent antioxidant.

Sulphur dioxide is commonly added to dried fruits to preserve their colour. We also provide unsulphured apricots, which are dark brown in appearance but just as tasty, perhaps even more so!

The apricot was first cultivated in China and is now grown on every continent except Antarctica. Dried apricots are great enjoyed as they are. Chopped up they make a great breakfast cereal topping. You'll also find them in Middle Eastern cuisine and often a feature of a tasty tagine.
