About Organic Aduki Beans
Aduki beans, a small red bean with a sweet and nutty flavour. Add cooked beans to soups, stews and rice dishes. When simmered with rice, it gives the rice a nice purple colour. Soak overnight, bring to the boil in fresh water and simmer for approx 1 hour or alternatively pressure cook for 15 minutes. Beans and Pulses are naturally low in fat, high in fibre and rich in protein. Popular in the Far East, especially Japan, Aduki Beans are a hard dark red bean, which are extensively used in macrobiotic cooking. It has a strong nutty flavour and it's a great source of soluble fibre.
