About Hass Avocado ORGANIC
Hass Avocadoes are the most popular type of avocado worldwide, and these organic ones are a particular treat. All Hass avocado trees originate from one tree planted in 1926, by Rudolph Hass a U.S Mail Man, from a seed of a Guatemalan subspecies of unknown origin. Unlike other species the Hass yields year-round fruit of a larger size, longer shelf life and richer taste.
Avocados are a good source of vitamin K, dietary fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin C, folate and copper. They are also a good source of potassium: they are higher in fact than a medium banana. Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats, especially oleic acid, that help reduce "bad" cholesterol and raise "good" cholesterol as well as supporting the cardiovascular system. They also contain Beta-sitosterol which reduces blood cholesterol levels.
