About Organic Cherry Tomatoes

Organic cherry tomatoes, try them in salads, bruschetta, or as an appetiser or garnish. Cherry tomatoes are firm, smooth-skinned and should be pink to red in colour.

Although tomatoes are fruits in a botanical sense (well berries strictly speaking), they don't have the dessert quality sweetness of other fruits. Instead they have a subtle sweetness that is complemented by a slightly bitter and acidic taste. Cooking tempers the acid and bitter qualities in tomatoes and brings out their warm, rich, sweetness. It also produces extra lycopene, a very useful antioxidant.

Joe McGrath When you get cherry tomatoes like these you are reminded that they really are fruits rather than vegetables. I could almost eat these as a dessert rather than part of the main course! Love them!
