About Organic Fresh Rosemary

Rosemary's intense, fragrant aroma is suited to nut roasts, grilled and roasted vegetables and bean or tomato dishes.

Rosemary contains substances that are useful for stimulating the immune system, increasing circulation, and improving digestion. Rosemary also contains anti-inflammatory compounds that may make it useful for reducing the severity of asthma attacks. In addition, rosemary has been shown to increase the blood flow to the head and brain, improving concentration.

To prepare: quickly rinse rosemary under cool running water and pat dry. Most recipes call for rosemary leaves, which can be easily removed from the stem. Alternatively, you can add the whole sprig to season soups and stews then simply remove it before serving. Try adding it to omelettes and frittatas and it makes a lovely sauce for bread mixed with olive oil.

Rosemary is a good source of the minerals iron and calcium, as well as dietary fibre.

I tried the lentil shepherd's pie recipe from this site last night. I had never though to add rosemary before and it made it even better than ususal - I will definitely be doing that again. Thank you.

Why not try one of our healthy recipes using this product

Vegan Lentils, Artichokes and Roasted Tomatoes Salad Recipe

Summary: You could make this in 5 minutes, by using canned lentils, jarred artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. Or you could go homemade and cook the lentils (it only takes about 15 minutes, especially if you add in a little kombu seaweed, which speeds up cooking for beans, peas and lentils), boil fresh spring artichokes in salty water before slicing them, and roasting your tomatoes in the oven. And these can be done in parallel. Why not try the 5 minute version for a quick lunch or packed lunch, especially if you make your lunch for the day in the morning before leaving for work, like many of us do. And try the all homemade version when you have more time on your hands. Either way, this is absolutely delicious, warm or cold. Serves 2 as a main or 4 as a starter.

Thai Bean Burgers Sweet Potato Curls and Chilli Tomato Jam

Summary: For an alternative to the traditional Valentines dinner out, take your beloved's taste buds on a holiday to exotic Thailand with these vegan and gluten-free bean burgers coupled with a chilli and tomato jam, both flavoured with Thai spices. Serve with lovely oven-baked sweet potato curly fries, to let them know how sweet they are. You can also make these on any day of the year, not just on Valentines Day, of course. I like to make them with black beans for their high content of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, you can use adzuki beans, chickpeas or even cannellini or butter beans. It might seam like a lot of instructions, but please don't let that put you off, as every step is very straight forward.
