About Tea Tree Oil
Used topically, disinfects wounds and heals virtually all skin conditions including acne, athlete's foot, boils, cuts and scrapes, earache, fungal infections, hair and scalp problems, herpes outbreaks, warts, insect and spider bites, scabies and wards. Added to water, it can be used as a gargle for colds, sore, throats and mouth sores (do not swallow) or as a douche for vaginitis.
Caution: Should not be taken internally, can be toxic.
Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
From the leaves. An oil that has many uses and long used by the Australian aborigines for its medicinal properties. Valuable for all types of skin problems. It has antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-viral, anti-fungal properties. It has a fresh, sharp, pungent and camphorous aroma.
USES: Blend each recipe to 25ml of base oil. For external use only.
Urinary system - Good for cystitis.
Urinary Blend: Tea Tree 6 drops/Sandalwood 3 drops/Myrrh 3 drops
Respiratory system - Valuable for colds and flu, relieving catarrh and sinusitis.
Respiratory Blend: Tea Tree 5 drops/Pine 3 drops/Thyme 2 drops.
Reproductive system - Good for all kinds of vaginal infection such as thrush. Also good for genital and anal itching.
Reproductive Blend: Tea Tree 5 drops/Myrrh 4 drops/Chamomile Roman 3 drops.
SKIN - Very effective in clearing infected wounds, especially when there is pus. Tea tree is excellent for all types of skin problems, particularly those affecting the feet (such as athlete's foot, corns, calluses and verrucas). Also good for warts and pierced ear and nail-bed infections. An effective treatment for colds and sores, shingles and chicken pox. A good cleanser and deodoriser.
Skin Blend: Tea tree 7 drops/Eucalyptus 3 drops/Bergamot 2 drops.
EMOTION - Tea tree is very clarifying and head-clearing, cleansing the imagination of disturbing thoughts.
