About Tea Tree Essential Oil
Australian Antiseptic Tea Tree oil is a 100% pure essential oil. With its antiseptic and antibacterial properties to help clean and protect the skin naturally. Although Tea Tree Oil is gentle enough to be applied to healthy skin, it can become sensitized to such a potent substance; it is possible to use pure Tea Tree oil on small areas of the skin for short periods but we recommend performing a patch test* before application - for larger skin areas we recommend diluting the oil (i.e. with a carrier oil), or choosing one of the specially formulated Australian Tea Tree products such as antiseptic cream, spray, blemish gel or lotion. *Apply a small amount of the liquid to an inconspicuous area (i.e. inner arm) leave for 24 to 48 hours - if no irritation occurs it can be assumed you can use 100% pure oil, but do not apply it in the same area for more than 7 consecutive days without a break of at least 7 days. We do not recommend using 100% pure oil if you have sensitive or very dry skin. Should you experience a reaction to pure Tea Tree oil, or indeed any skin product cease application immediately - if irritation persists for more than 48 hours consult a healthcare practitioner.
