About Organic Desiccated Coconut

Desiccated Coconut is great in all sorts of cooking, particularly Indian dishes and desserts. Popular in mueslis, granolas and trail mixes, it is also useful for adding interest to cakes, flapjacks and fruit buns. This coconut is made from organic coconuts in Sri Lanka. It has no added sugar. This is not a raw product, it has been pasteurised at 82 ° Celsius.

Coconut is a very good source of manganese, contains no cholesterol and is very low in sodium. It is high in saturated fat, but it's not the bad stuff of trans fatty acids, it's medium chain fatty acids that are being studied for their role in raising HDL or 'good' cholesterol.

Customer reviews

I only like tiny amounts of coconut in my curries so being able to buy it in small quantities like this is really useful.

Raw Vegan Banana Camu Camu Ice Cream Recipe

Summary: Camu Camu is a cherry-like fruit that grows in the Amazonian forest and that is becoming increasingly popular for its high Vitamin C (30 times more than oranges) and antioxidant content. It is also perhaps the most popular ice cream flavour in Peru. This raw vegan twist makes for the easiest, healthiest, camu camu ice cream, without any sacrifice on taste, as frozen bananas alone taste unbelievably close to traditional vanilla ice cream. Only 2 ingredients : banana and camu camu powder ; add optional toppings of your choice.

They are amazingly delicious, really easy to make, and they are so much better for you than a traditional cheesecake. This Raw Vegan Mango And Passion Fruit Cheesecake is no exception : the mango flavoured crust is chewy yet crunchy, the mango cream is delicious and velvety smooth, and the passion fruit topping is tangy and adds a great crush when you bite into the seeds.

Raw Vegan Chocolate Maca Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Summary: Maca, a South American turnip-like root vegetable, is a member of the cruciferous family, along with kale, broccoli and cabbage. It is known as an adaptogen and is one of the most popular superfoods, boasting positive effects on energy levels and stamina, and on mood, memory and mental focus. Maca is also known to help balance hormones, increase fertility in both men and women, and boost the immune system. This chocolate smoothie bowl is a delicious way to include superhero maca into your diet and enjoy its numerous health benefits. Using frozen banana will give you a thicker, creamier smoothie, but fresh banana will work just fine too.
