About Organic Hass Avocado

Organic Hass Avocado are a medium sized avocado with a good flavour, they are almost black when ripe and have a pebbly textured skin. It has an oil content of 19%. Avocados are highly prized for their incredibly nutritious monounsaturated oil, containing omega-3, vitamins A and E and have good levels of the B vitamins. For more information on avocados, their health benefits and some great recipes simply click on this link to our avocado information.

Hass avocados are the most popular type of avocado worldwide, and these organic ones are a particular treat. All Hass avocado trees originate from one tree planted in 1926, by Rudolph Hass a U.S. Mail Man, from a seed of a Guatemalan subspecies of unknown origin. It was patented in 1935. Unlike other species the Hass yields year-round fruit of a larger size, longer shelf-life and richer taste.

Customer reviews

I love avocados for a fresh, breakfast burrito. Mix in scrambled eggs, spinach and some tomato salsa, slice the avocado and wrap the lot in a wrap - amazing start to the day!

I tried the carrot and avocado face mask recipe you show above (I've got really dry skin) and it really worked, my skin feels gorgeous. Good job!

Raw Alkalising Heirloom Tomato, Avocado and Spirulina Salad Recipe

Summary: Perfectly ripe heirloom tomatoes are so delicious that the best way to do them justice is to eat them as a salad, simply dressed with lemon juice and olive oil. This salad is a twist to that, with added spirulina and avocado. Spirulina crunchies only contain spirulina, they have no added ingredient, but somehow the way they are produced makes them taste different from powdered spirulina, and add a crunchy element to this salad. But of course, you can use spirulina powder if you can't get the crunchies. If you can, leave the sea salt out ; the salad is naturally and delicately salted by the addition of seaweed. You may use any sea vegetable you have on hand, I like to use dulse because it is thought to contain Sodium, Potassium and its other minerals in a ratio that is suited for human health.

Vegetarian Protein Rich Quinoa, Avocado and Peas Super Salad Recipe

Summary: This salad is really super quick and easy to make, and yet very sustaining. Quinoa and Avocados are traditional foods in Peru ; they go really well together and are both highly nutritious. Quinoa is high in fibre and in excellent quality protein. Avocados are amongst the best foods on the planet, thanks to their high content in healthy fats, fats that heal. Spinach is really high in good quality protein too and because it has a balanced amino-acid profile, it improves the protein profile of any meal. This really is a super salad ! Please feel free to add other Spring favourites like blanched broad beans or sliced raw radishes, or substitute lamb's lettuce for the baby spinach. It takes only 5 extra minutes to make the quinoa crunchies, and they are well worth it. Make them right before serving the salad for a lovely temperature and texture contrast. Serves 1 hungry person as a main, or 2 normal people as a starter.
