About Coarse Sea Salt

Sea Salt has been obtained by the simple and natural evaporation of water aided by the warm sun and wind. It is one of the vital components of taste.

Salt is one of the most effective and widely used seasonings as it binds flavours together and accentuates them. It reduces the bitterness and acidity, whilst bringing out the other flavours of the food.

A tiny pinch of salt added to boiling water when cooking vegetables will add flavour, help retain nutrients and reduce the cooking time.

Salt sprinkled on citrus fruit, melons and tomatoes can enhance their flavour.

Moisten the rim of a glass with lemon or lime and dip into salt, slightly twisting the glass, to add that professional touch to a cocktail.

Remove stubborn tea and coffee stains inside cups and mugs by rubbing them with salt.

For brighter chopping boards, rub with a damp cloth dipped in salt after washing.

Use salt on red wine stains. Blot up as much of the spillage as possible and cover the rest with salt. Wash or vacuum as usual.

For a facial, mix equal parts of salt and olive oil and gently massage the face. Relax for 5 minutes and wash off.

Salt water helps to soothe skin irritations and helps the body's natural healing processes. Enjoy a warm, salt bath!

This is a great salt to use on your cocktail glasses. I think the coarse grains work much better than the fine ones. In the right light you can even get a bit of a glitter of the crystals!

Delicious Vegan South Indian Sweet Potato And Cauliflower Curry With Fermented Quinoa Dosa Recipe

Summary: I love South Indian curries for their wonderful flavour combinations. Spices in this curry complement the creamy coconut and sweet potato. Dosas are thin South Indian rice crepes. They are traditionally made from a fermented rice and black lentils batter. For a high protein dosa, I use quinoa quinoa instead. And I don't ferment the batter when I am pressed for time, but the fermented version is closer to the original. Serve the curry and the dosa with some rice, if you wish, and garnished with lime juice, lime zest and fresh coriander.

Acorn Coffee Recipe

Summary: Acorn is the nut of the oak tree. Did you know that you can eat acorns and even make naturally caffeine-free acorn coffee ? You will be surprised by what a beautiful nutty and caramel flavour it has. You can use ready-made acorn meal sold as coffee substitute, or forage, roast and grind your own acorns. It does take a bit of time to prepare them, but it could be a fun activity to enjoy with your kids and family. Acorns are usually safe for tree-nut allergy sufferers, but please double-check if unsure.
