Vegan Asian Inspired Shallot and Chilli Pickle Recipe

Want to spice things up this Valentine's Day (or all year-round)? This easy to make raw condiment inspired from south-east Asia sambal will do just that. Serve with your favourite foods, add to a salad dressing or a sauce. Chilli raises the metabolism, helping keeping you warm.

You will need

4 shallots More products
2 red chillies and 2 green chillies More products
1/2 lemon, juiced More products
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil More products
4 tbsp or 60ml olive oil More products

Method

  • Simply chop the shallots and chillies as small as possible, put them in a bowl with the lemon juice, toasted sesame oil and olive oil, and mix thogether.
  • Your shallot-chilli sambal is ready to serve and will keep for up to 2 weeks in a glass jar in the refrigerator.
