About Sweet Jumbo Apricot Turkey

These Jumbo Sweet Apricots are sourced from Turkey. The Turkish idiom "bundan iyisi Sam'da kayisi" (literally, the only thing better than this is an apricot in Damascus) means "it doesn't get any better than this" and used when something is the very best it can be; like a delicious apricot from Damascus. Fresh apricots are at their peak for only a short period, and do not keep or travel well. Drying is one method of preserving their goodness, and happily improves the flavour as well. One of the most versatile dried fruits, apricots can be used in sweet and savoury dishes. Try them in Moroccan tagines, North Indian curries, Persian stews and South African barbecue sauces.

Very nice apricots. These are very good as a snack - they are big enough not to disappera in just one mouthful. Lovely.

Real Foods Vintage Christmas Cake Recipe

Summary: Many traditional Christmas cake recipes recommend maturing the cake over 2-3 months. Of course many recipes are also made with a whole host of ingredients that bakers today can’t use, such as wheat (containing gluten), dairy and eggs. This vintage Real Foods recipe allows you to cater for a modern world full of food intolerances that weren’t so prevalent even just a decade ago. Here's some advice that was given out with our original Vintage recipe: Don't just follow this recipe! Be adventurous ... use coconut, chestnut flour, cashews, hazels, pecans, sunflower or sesame seeds, apple rings or peaches or pears ... just remember to keep proportions of dry goods and liquids correct.
