About Teff Flour Gluten Free

Teff Flour is a pleasingly light, uniquely flavoured, 100% wholegrain flour. Ethiopian households have been using teff flour in their baking for ages. A favourite teff dish eaten at almost every Ethiopian meal is a flat, crepe-like bread called Injera.

wholegrain Teff, an ancient East African cereal grass, is a nutritional powerhouse. It is the smallest grain in the world - about 100 grains of teff are the size of a single kernel of wheat! Compared to other grains, it has a much larger percentage of bran and germ so it's a very good source of dietary fibre, protein, iron, amino acids, vitamin C and calcium. The calcium content in teff significantly surpasses that of all other grains.

Due to the small size of the grain, it is almost impossible to grind teff flour in your home mill. We are glad to do the work for you! Now you, too, can enjoy the light, nutty flavour and bountiful nutrition of teff flour in your home. Substitute Teff Flour for about a fourth of the all-purpose flour called for in your favourite baked goods recipe to add an appealing taste and added nutrition. Naturally gluten free, teff is a wonderful way to add something a bit exotic to your diet.
