About Organic Vert Lentils
Biona canned organic lentils vert. A good source of protein and rich in dietary fibre. For cold salads, try mixing Lentils with Sun-Dried Tomatoes, fresh herbs, olive oil and whatever else you like. Or try with thyme and roasted garlic. Stir in chunks of goats cheese and serve with wedges of roasted butternut squash. These lentils retain their shape on cooking and have a delicious flavour.
Lentils, being a rich source of dietary fibre, are beneficial for lowering cholesterol. This fibre content also prevents the sudden hike in blood sugar levels after a meal. They are also good for preventing digestive disorders, like irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulosis and constipation. Apart from lowering cholesterol, lentils are also good for the health of the heart, as they contain significant amounts of folate and magnesium, which inhibits the damages to the artery walls. The high levels of magnesium in lentils are also good for cardiovascular health, as they enhance the blood flow in the body. Lentils have a good iron content and they contain beneficial flavonoids.
