About Ground Cardamom

Cardamom is one of the oldest and most valuable spices in the world after saffron and vanilla. The spice comes from South India, Sri Lanka, Guatemala, Tanzania and Brazil. Ground cardamom seeds, with their beneficial and fresh, mild taste, complement other herbs and curry spices. Cardamom is contained in many liquors and is also used in cakes, biscuits and milk desserts. In India, it is a popular ingredient in curries and meat dishes. It is one of the spices used in Garam Masala and is an essential ingredient for Pilau Rice as well as being used in desserts and sweetmeats. Often also called cardamom.

I like to add a teaspoon of cardamon to my pot of lentil soup when I feel like a chnage - it gives a great added dimension to the flavour.

Raw Vegan Banana And Passion Fruit Smooth Chia Pudding Recipe

Summary: Chia Pudding usually calls for soaking the chia seeds in a flavoured liquid (such as almond milk, coconut milk or your favourite homemade dairy free milk substitute) and letting the seeds soak the liquid for anything from an hour to overnight. As the seeds soak up the liquid, each individual seed gets surrounded by a jelly-like bubble, and the resulting chia pudding has a texture resembling that of tapioca pudding, or frog spawn. Chia seeds are a very popular superfood, particularly due to their high Omega 3 content ; they are also very high in fibre and chia pudding is an ideal breakfast, as it keeps one full until lunch. If you are not keen on the texture, you can still enjoy the benefits of adding chia puddings to your diet, by simply blending them until smooth. This super simple recipe is a great example of a smooth chia pudding for a high energy breakfast, naturally sweetened by the bananas. It would also make a lovely dessert or snack for adults and children alike.

Gluten Free Rose, Orange and Pistachio Persian Love Cake Recipe

Summary: Legend has it that a long long time ago, a young woman was madly in love with a Persian Prince, and she baked him a cake filled with magical love powers to make him fall in love with her. In one version of the tale, the cake works it's magic and the Prince returns her love, but in another, he doesn't. Either way, the Persian Love Cake is a symbol of undying love, with enchanting flavours of rosewater, cardamom and saffron. Perfect as a Valentine's Day celebratory cake, the Persian Love Cake has even become a popular choice for wedding cakes. This is our take on the Persian Love Cake : first, we make it gluten-free by using a combination of ground almonds and ground pistachios and no flour at all, secondly we incorporate orange juice and zest into the cake, and finally, to make the cake just that little bit healthier, we skip the icing, and make a cake drizzle that has no added sugar, as the cake is sweet and lovely enough. The result is the most moist, nutty, fruity, floral, enchanting, magical cake, fit for charming any Prince (or Princess).
