Your Healthy Living Show Review

On June 12th & 13th Real Foods was exhibiting at the Your Healthy Living Show in the Assembly Rooms on George Street. It was an exciting and interesting weekend full of factual talks and helpful demonstrations; enjoyed by all who attended, staff and visitors alike. If you missed it - watch out for it being advertised on our site next year; you do not want to miss it again!

This was our second year at the show and we presented two stands: a Farmer's Market and a Superfoods and Lifestyle stand. The show attendance was phenomenal and we mingled with our local and national suppliers, our loyal customers, new customers and Edinburgh locals and visitors alike.

We launched two exciting new products at the show with tastings of our new Edinburgh based beers, Stewart Brewing, and free samples of our new ORAC muesli both flying off our farmers market stall, with many interested customers enquiring about what made our muesli so special!

Our lifestyle stand was busy with people enquiring about our extensive range of sustainable household goods; from washing up liquid to recycled cupcake holders.

Even more exciting was our range of superfoods; all superior quality, certified organic and the best prices to be found in Scotland. Pick up one of our superfoods booklets in store for free information on their health benefits and how they can be easily added to your everyday diet.

Real Foods also partnered with several celebrity chefs to present show visitors with tips on how to cook healthy, delicious meals. Paul da Costa Greaves cooked up a feast using his seaweed pestos and therapeutic essential oil chocolate range – Feeding Your Imagination. Nell Nelson did a live demonstration of recipes from her new book, Eat Well With Nell, followed by a book signing. These healthy recipes are all easy to follow, simple to make and look and taste delicious.

Expert Jem Gardiner from Vinceramos Wines talked visitors through a range of 5 organic wines with generous samples of each. The tasting included East Meridian Chardonnay (£6.86), a fresh and fruity white; La Marouette Viognier (£7.45), a clean and crisp tasting white wine; La Marouette Syrah (£7.04), a direct and full bodied rose; Ear Primitivo (£7.04), dark with tart berry flavours of blackcurrants; Caligiore Syrah (8.62), an intense but elegant medium-bodied red. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our suppliers who generously donated samples for the show. This included FYI, Your Piece Baking Company, Booja Booja, Hale & Hearty, YourHealth.net, Trek, Lavera, Au Naturel (Solaray and Aubrey Organics), Solgar, Viridian, Essential Care, Stewarts Brewing, Dr. Bronner, and Jasons.
