Chocofrolics

On Tuesday 1st February, over 20 people embarked on an odyssey through a range of organic wines and chocolates at Chocofrolics, hosted by Real Foods on Broughton Street. Wine expert Linda Ward guided guests through the fizzy delights of Prosecco and the citrus lemon-soaked zing of sauvignon blanc, to the heady rich flavours of Californian zinfandel. This journey through the world of organic wines also visited the realm of sulphite free wine-making in the form of a very special cabernet sauvignon that proved to be very popular with everyone.

Also on this indulgent tasting menu were a range of organic and Fairtrade chocolates. We began with Sharpham Park's chocolate spelt biscotti, a perfect complement to the prosecco and this was followed by an array of organic chocolates infused with ingredients such as cacao nibs, raspberries, ginger and chilli, each a perfect match for the wines being tasted. Booja Booja's champagne truffles left people coming back at the end to ask how chocolate so rich could be cholesterol free!

Real Foods would like to thank all the suppliers and producers who made this event such a success: Vintage Roots, Sharpham Park, Divine, Chocolate and Love, FYI, Conscious and Booja Booja. Most of all thanks goes to the wonderful people who came and enjoyed our Chocofrolics.
