Method

Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder and spices in a small bowl and set aside.
Beat together the margarine and brown sugar or xylitol. Add the molasses and mix well.
Add half of the flour mixture and the baking soda mixture and combine well. Add the rest of the flour mixture and mix again.
Cover and chill for at least one hour. Pre-heat the oven to 325 degrees F or 170 degrees C.
Spoon dough into 1 1/2 inch balls and bake 12 to 15 minutes, until the surface of the cookies start to crack slightly.
