Ingredients: 3 ripe but firm sweet pears, peeled and cored, with one pear thinly sliced and the rest diced.; 1/2 medium cucumber divided in lengthways, seeds scooped out. Slice 1/2 of the cucumber, dice the rest.; 100g black seedless grapes washed OR; 100g green seedless grapes washed; vinaigrette dressing to taste OR; make your own vinaigrette dressing (makes 150ml):; 120ml vegetable oil; 2 tbsp wine vinegar OR; 2 tbsp cider vinegar OR; 2 tbsp lemon juice; salt to taste; black pepper to taste; 1 tsp wholegrain mustard

A simple but unusual salad to prepare.

make your own vinaigrette dressing (makes 150ml):

Method

Make a bed of pear and cucumber slices in a small salad bowl.
Put the remaining pear, cucumber and grapes, reserve 5 or 6, into a bowl and toss them in vinaigrette dressing to taste.
Pour this mixture over the bed of cucumber and pear slices.
Garnish the salad with the reserved grapes, chill and serve.
To make the vinaigrette dressing:
Place all ingredients in a bowl or liquidizer and beat or blend well.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
