About Organic Almonds Flaked

A key ingredient in many dishes. An essential for Christmas baking, whether its Christmas cake or Christmas pudding. Crucial for milder Indian food, almond flakes can be gently toasted and added to cooking and provide a delicious delicate nutty flavour and texture. Almonds contain protein and the amino acid tryptophan - which is a proven mood booster. A recent US study has also found that a handful of almonds can work to suppress your appetite.

I love including these organic flaked almonds in my baking. They are a lovely addition to a fruit cake and also look pretty as a decoration on the top of the cake.

Traditional French Twelfth Night Cake Recipe

Summary: The twelfth night after Christmas marks the end of the celebrations and is the time for taking down the decorations. The French still keep the medieval tradition of baking a cake containing a dried bean. The person who gets the bean is the King or Queen for the evening, and is crowned with a paper crown. He or she is all powerful and can demand favours and forfeits from the guests, so make sure you know where the bean is hidden in the cake. Just use gluten free flour and gluten free baking powder to make the cake gluten free.
