About Organic Flaxseed Golden Linseed

Organic Golden Linseed from Real Foods. Flaxseed or Linseed is a crop grown for food and fibre. The material linen derives its name from the same root as linseed. Linseed provides short-chain omega 3 fatty acids including linoleic acid and alpha linolenic acid, both of which are needed by the body and must be obtained through the diet. Linseed contains over 50% omega 3. Because it's plant based, it's a great vegetarian and vegan source of omega 3. Omega 3 has many benefits in the body including helping to support a healthy nervous and cardiovascular system as well as supporting healthy joints, skin, hair and nails. Linseeds contain high levels of dietary fibre as well as lignans and an abundance of micronutrients.

Flaxseeds have a nutty flavour and are excellent sprinkled on salads, cereals, and yoghurt. Try Stirring 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed into your favourite fruit, vegetable juice, or milk.

Debra Sloan I loved the bean burger recipe! Very tasty and used up all my odds and ends, will definitely be trying it again, was nice with the flaxseeds.
Marie Fitzroy We get this about once a month or so and make a little power mix for sprinkling through salads. It's also really tasty ground up a bit and put into yoghurt for breakfast, it's got a sweet sort of nutty taste to it.
