About Pitted Dates Free Flow

Free Flow dates, are unpressed dates, they contain a small amount of vegetable oil to help prevent clumping. The date palm, native to the Middle East, was mentioned in the bible as the "tree of life," and the word "date" comes from the Greek "daktulos", which means "finger". Dates grow in large bunches which can weigh as much as 40 pounds, and large trees will yield more than 1,000 dates each year. In many countries dates are added to salads, couscous dishes, curries and used in baked desserts and confections. Because dates are very high in sugar, they can easily be converted into sugar. To make date sugar, arrange sliced dates on a baking sheet and bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes, or until very dry and hard as rocks. Grind in a food processor to make sugar.

Generally speaking our customers have found that these dates are most suitable for cooking and baking. The organic ones are better for snacking on (more uniform in size).

Ultimate Raw Vegan Three Layer Cayenne Pepper Chocolate Brownies Recipe

Summary: These are the best, intensely chocolatey, raw vegan chocolate brownies. Three layers of deliciousness : a rich fudgy chocolate base, a smooth and creamy chocolate caramel middle and a crunchy chocolate topping. With sea salt to bring out the chocolate flavour, and a little cayenne pepper for a kick, but feel free to leave it out if you prefer, or if sharing with children.

Sublime Faux Gras : a Vegan Alternative to Foie Gras Recipe

Summary: Who knew that a mixture of onion, mushrooms, green lentils, nuts, beetroot, fresh herbs and lemon juice could produce such an incredibly delicious and realistic alternative to one of the most controversial yet popular French delicacies, Foie Gras ? Enter Faux Gras. This Mushroom and Lentil pâté tastes very much like real Foie Gras, but is brimming with plant-based nutrition, and more importantly, comes without the unkind treatment to ducks and geese. But this Faux Gras is not just a vegan alternative to Foie Gras, it is also an exceptionally tasty vegan spread in its own right : it is hands down the best pâté, vegan or otherwise, that I have ever tasted. Don't be put off by the fairly long list of ingredients, the recipe is actually really easy and straightforward.
